Most existing DAC processes use basic aqueous solutions as CO2 absorbents, which present the problem that heating and regeneration require excess thermal energy due to water evaporation. In this study, we developed a solid adsorbent capable of adsorbing CO2 from low concentrations by introducing amino groups into an organic-inorganic hybrid layered silicate material developed in our laboratory and evaluated its CO2 adsorption capacity. The material functionalized with a butylaminopropyl group exhibited the highest CO2 adsorption capacity, and the adsorption capacity was increased by controlling the hydrothermal synthesis conditions.
