Tandem hydrocarbon synthesis via methanol has attracted attention as a promising approach for CO2 utilization toward sustainable fuel production. Metal oxide–zeolite tandem catalysts are one type of catalyst system for this reaction. In this study, ZnFe2O4 spinel was focused on because it exhibits methanol synthesis activity at 653 K, which is a suitable temperature for methanol-to-hydrocarbon reaction. Metal-substituted ZnFe2O4 spinel catalysts were prepared, and their hydrocarbon formation behavior was investigated using SSZ-13 as the zeolite component. Furthermore, various characterization analyses were conducted to clarify the effects of metal substitution on the physical properties of the catalysts.
