One-dimensional transition metal dichalcogenide (TMDC) nanoribbons have attracted much attention in recent years. Their nanoribbon structures are predicted to change their properties and develop new ones due to the quantum confinement and edge effect. Recently, we have successfully grown monolayer WS2 nanoribbons on tungsten oxide nanowires. In this talk, we will report on the optical properties of the WS2 nanoribbons.
