UV disinfection of water is in practice in various applications including drinking water, wastewater, industrial water and recreational water treatment. This presentation will show the current status of UV installation at public water treatment plants, followed by the recent research outcomes on UV-LED applications, from lab-scale fundamental experiments to the pilot-scale demonstration study in the field. As final remarks, overview of technical needs for UV technologies will be touched in the context of water treatment to conclude with a prospect for the future.
