We focus on visible light responsive photocatalyst, graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4=gCN). gCN's high orientation, semiconductor properties, and supported noble metal complex formation are the inspiration for our material development to improve gCN photocatalytic activity. Pd was selected as the supported noble metal because of its potential for environmental purification. The impregnation method and the solution plasma method were selected as the loading methods. The objectives of this study are to evaluate the effect of Pd nanoparticles on gCN, the molecular structure and interfacial electronic state of gCN depending on these loading methods.
