CsPbX3 (X = Cl, Br, and I) perovskite nanocrystals have attracted much attention as novel light-emitting materials due to their excellent optical properties. We have recently discovered that the emission of the nanocrystals can be photo-reversibly switched by adsorbing a diarylethene molecule with a carboxyl group on the surface of green-emitting CsPbBr3 nanocrystals. In this study, our objective was to achieve stable and efficient luminescence switching by combining red-emitting CsPbI3 nanocrystals with zwitterionic diarylethene molecules with higher adsorption strength.
