[20a-A310-8]Measurement of Hydrogen Isotope Ratios by Transmission ERDA using 8 MeV He Ion Beams

The content ratios of hydrogen (H) and deuterium (D) in the hydrogen-containing films were determined by the Elastic Recoil Detection Analysis of the Transmission layout (T-ERDA) using 8 MeV He ion beams. For Mylar films, the determined D/H ratios and corresponding D densities (atoms/cm3) were (1.65 ± 0.08) × 10-4 and (5.75 ± 0.28) × 1018, respectively. This study demonstrates that T-ERDA is widely applicable for nondestructive measurement of D/H ratio in materials.
