Quantitative evaluation of immunity is useful for health management. Kurita et al. of Shinshu University have shown that Candida mannan (CM) included in oral Candida is an effective marker of immunity. In this study, a saliva sample was measured using a fluorescence sandwich CM immunoassay constructed on a plasmonic chip, and CM was evaluated from fluorescence images with an upright fluorescence microscope. The fluorescence intensity inside the plasmonic pattern was 9.7 ± 2.5 times larger than that outside, and the correlation between fluorescence intensity and CM concentration was shown.
