The molecular orientation properties and the detailed polarization distribution of ferroelectric liquid crystals are complicated and there are many unresolved factors. In this study, we investigated the polarization distribution of ferroelectric nematic liquid crystals in the cells with different symmetry of the up-and-down rubbing directions. We found that the rubbing treatment uniquely determines the direction of polarization at the interface, and that in antiparallel cells, two twisting structures coexist in the cell thickness direction to cancel out the macroscopic polarization.
