In general, field emission shows the emission current from several ten nA to μA, however, a liquid metal field emission electron source would be able to emit large currents of 1mA or more. We had reported a simple method for in situ formation of a liquid metal electron source, which differs from the method previously reported by Hata, where a flushing process was not needed. In this report, we describe the emission characteristics by Ga on cathode surface.
