Keywords:
gapless detection of a broadband THz pulse
We developed a THz waveform detection method by simply using a polished metal surface in air, and named the present new method air-metal coherent detection (AMCD), which is based on the interference between the THz field-induced second harmonic (TFISH) light from air molecules and the second harmonic generation (SHG) light from the metal surface. Compared to conventional methods for evaluating the THz waveform such as the air-biased coherent detection (ABCD) method and electro-optic (EO) sampling method, AMCD can easily realize the gapless detection of a broadband THz pulse.
