Gas sensors, which detect chemical information in air, play an important role in environmental sensing. In this study, environmental gas sensing of ammonia and essential oil (lemon) was performed by using Membrane-type Surface stress sensors (MSS) coated with PS and P4MS. Although both PS- and P4MS-coated MSS showed weak responses to ammonia, only the P4MS-coated MSS showed high response to essential oil.
