We are required to establish traceability from neutron standards in the future to boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT) facilities. We are developing a current-mode 6Li-glass scintillation detector to connect the AIST standard neutron fields and the BNCT facilities, but there is a flux gap more than 4 orders of magnitude between the two fields. Therefore, the linearity characteristics of the neutron detector are extremely important. In the present study, we have developed a method to precisely measure the linearity of photomultiplier tubes using an integrating sphere used in photon measurements. Finally, the linearity of the output current with respect to the neutron flux will be experimentally evaluated.
