Pt-added SnO2 are widely used as a material for semiconductor gas sensors. However, their gas detection mechanism has not been elucidated. In this study, we performed operando observation of Pt-added SnO2 (Pt-SnO2) to elucidate the mechanism of EtOH gas detection. The correlation between the change in resistance of Pt-SnO2 and EtOH oxidation activity on the Pt-SnO2 surface are suggested.
