Currently, virus detection methods for detecting only active viruses are viral culture tests, but they are not rapid. Focusing on the long-range reverse-transcription quantitative polymerase chain reaction method, we reported on the effect of UV inactivation on influenza viruses. Also, we reported that inactivation by 100°C heating or sodium hypochlorite treatment also affects the detections. In this study, we investigated the effect of temperature conditions during heat sterilization on the results of active virus detection using this method.
