The high recombination rate of photoexcited carriers in titanium dioxide (A-TiO2) makes its photocatalytic activity practically low. As one solution, we focused on the utilization of localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) of gold nanoparticles (Au-NPs). In the present study, we developed A-TiO2/Au-NPs/A-TiO2/Au-NPs (IMIM) nanostructures, which consist of Au-NPs and A-TiO2 in stack form. The photocatalytic activity of the developed IMIM nanostructures was revealed by comparison with other nanostructures.
