Aiming at the realization of a surface plasmon sensor using a standing-propagating surface plasmon (called non-propagating mode) with a wave number of 0, we fabricated and evaluated the surface plasmon sensor, and analyzed the behavior of the non-propagating mode using the RCWA method. When we fabricated an Au diffraction grating and measured the transmittance spectrum using a liquid medium with a refractive index of 1.7, we obtained experimental results that were in good agreement with the simulation results.
