Light has momentum and exerts force (light pressure) on materials through scattering and absorption. By making the system anisotropic, it is possible to generate light pressure even by luminescence, and it is expected to realize novel resonator optomechanics using emitted light pressure. Considering an optical-mechanical resonator with a bridged structure of luminescent thin film on a metal reflective surface, it is theoretically predicted that mechanical vibration is induced in the film by the light pressure of luminescence generated in the cavity. In this study, we report on the actual device fabrication and investigation.
