Many charge-transfer complexes show n-type transistor properties in spite of the two components. This is attributed to the HOMO-LUMO orthogonality and contribution of other orbitals. P-Type characteristics of diaminonaphthalene complexes are interpreted by the cancellation of other orbitals. The effect of orbital overlap is important in such an example as a complex of a stronger donor exhibits n-type properties. Segregated complexes show transistor characteristics in the form of evaporated films.
