Group VI oxides, WO3 and MoO3, are doped with electrons by intercalating Li-ions in the gaps in their crystal structures, resulting in a transition from insulator to metal. In this study, MoO3/WO3 epitaxial bilayer films were fabricated and in-situ X-ray diffraction measurements were performed to investigate how the different (or similar) crystal structures and reduction potentials of the two materials affect the Li-intercalation behavior.
