[21p-A501-1] Nanogap switch effect using AlOx coated AuPd alloys

The structural changes of AlOx-coated AuPd alloy nanogaps after resistance switching were observed by Scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The electrodes thickness of nanogaps without AlOx coating became thin and large structural changes were observed. On the other hand, in the results of the nanogaps with AlOx coating, the whole shape of the electrode was also changed, however, the thickness of that was merely changed. This result indicates that the insulating AlOx coating suppressed the structural changes in nanogap electrodes.
