Solid solution SiGe is very useful for infrared, electronic device, and thermoelectric materials. The optical, the electronic, and the mechanical properties of SiGe crystals have been measured by many authors. We will discuss the elastic modulus of polycrystalline SiGe alloys by measuring the transverse and longitudinal sound velocities.
