Image fibers for visible image transport are widely used as endoscopic probes and the fibers for mid-infrared image transport have been developed. In this study, we propose heterogeneous-core image fibers made of chalcogenide glasses and optimize the structure by numerical simulations. The core density in the optimized fiber is 2.3 times higher than in an image fiber consisting of cores with the same diameter.
