Thermoelectric conversion technology is faced with the challenge of improving the performance of thermal materials. The high performance includes an increase in the Seebeck coefficient and electrical conductivity, and a decrease in thermal conductivity.
In this study, Bi2Te3 in nanoplatelet form was prepared by solvothermal synthesis, and Sn, Pd, and Sn+Pd nanodots were formed on the nanoplatelet surface by electroless plating to increase electrical conductivity and decrease thermal conductivity due to phonon scattering. We checked if there is any difference in performance depending on the surface nanodots.
