Fiber-based radiation position detectors are mainly based on the time-of-flight (ToF) method. This method requires photodetectors to be installed at both ends of the fiber. Recently, a position-sensitive detector based on the redshift of the scintillation light has been proposed[1]. Since this method allows the photodetectors to be installed at only one end of the fiber, various applications can be expected. However, the effect of reflection of scintillation light at the end of the fiber has not been investigated.
In this study, we experimentally clarify the relationship between the calibration curve and the reflectance at the fiber end-face for the position-sensitive detector based on the redshift.
