A position sensing method based on the redshift of scintillation light has recently been proposed. This method allows to place photodetectors at only one end of the scintillating fiber, leading to expectations for various applications. Experimental results have shown that the method depends on the threshold of coincidence measurement. However, further theoretical investigation is needed.
In this study, we propose the theoretical model for the threshold dependence in the position sensing method based on redshifts.
