In the last JSAP spring meeting, we proposed an ultra-fast read-out method for SNDM ferroelectric probe memory. This method improves both the reading speed and retention characteristics by heating the media locally for a very short time only at the position where the data is read. This presentation is a continuation of the study. The quantitative increase in SNDM signal intensity was investigated, and the amplitude of the signal increased by light irradiation was about 160 times that of normal temperature. This suggests that it has the potential to be as fast as or faster than magnetic HDDs currently in practical use.
