The simultaneous analysis of multiple molecules constituting a cell is important for basic understanding and application in the life sciences. In this presentation, we report on the development of an instrument to improve the spatial resolution of mass spectrometric imaging (MSI) using t-SPESI and the measurement of isolated HeLa cells. By developing a t-SPESI unit that can be mounted on an inverted fluorescence microscope, we were able to perform fluorescence imaging and MSI of isolated HeLa cells cultured on a glass substrate in the same field of view.
