This lab has shown that plasma-activated solutions exhibit bactericidal and plant growth-promoting effects. In this study, we worked on the highly efficient purification of tryptophan degradation products, especially formylkynurenine and kynurenine, produced by irradiating tryptophan solution, a type of amino acid, with oxygen radicals. It was confirmed that formylkynurenine and kynurenine were the main products of tryptophan degradation by oxygen radical irradiation.
