Samples cut out of oriented ceramics TX101 manufactured by QorTek Co. USA in the horizontal and vertical directions to the oriented plane were evaluated. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) pattern of each surface is measured. The horizontal plane is strongly oriented to the (100) plane. In addition, by scanning electron microscopy, it was observed that crystal grains of 5-20 μm were arranged in the horizontal direction in the cross section. Horizontal samples tend to have smaller dielectric constants. The piezoelectric d33 constant has so far been obtained to be 803 pC/N and 565 pC/N for horizontal and vertical samples, respectively.
