In this study, a new highly sensitive and surface-sensitive nonlinear vibrational spectroscopy method was developed and applied to the measurement of nano-amorphous layers on solid surfaces. As a result, we succeeded in observing nanometer-order surface amorphous layers, including amorphous SiO2 layers formed on Si surfaces by thermal oxidation, which are difficult to detect using existing methods. This technique also enables us to measure the distribution of the ring structure involved in the chemical activity of amorphous SiO2, and we aim to correlate the structure of the nano-amorphous layer with its physical properties.
