Ultrafast time-resolved electron diffraction measurements have directly provided the structural dynamics of atoms or molecules rearranged by photoexcitation on the femtosecond time scale. The measurement of the probe electron pulse is essential in the characterization of system. We measure the electron pulse duration under the RF cavity compression using the interactions of electric field generated by terahertz (THz) wave and electron pulse (THz streaking method) and report the results.
