We have realized photon upconversion and OLED with extremely low driving voltage by using using a CT state as energy transfer precursors to generate triplet excited states of emitting materials. These optical functions were realized because of the unique properties of the CT state, namely weakly bound by Coulomb attraction and existing at a D/A interface that is two-dimensional planar field.
