The two-dimensional material NbOI2 exhibits large nonlinear optical effects and is expected to be a highly efficient and compact second harmonic generator and entangled light source. We have evaluated the optical response of NbOI2. When linearly polarized light was incident on NbOI2, the intensity of the harmonics was found to be the highest when the polarization direction coincided with the specific axis of the crystal. We also measured that the intensity of the harmonic wave varies greatly with the intensity of the incident light. In this presentation, we will also present the results of Raman spectroscopy measurements and the response of a sample heterojunctioned with WS2.
