Photon-counting CT (PC-CT) is a next-generation CT that provides images including X-ray energy information and can examine the material type and density inside a subject. We have developed PC-CT by combining a high-speed scintillator and MPPC. In this study, we used the developed PC-CT to evaluate liver diseases in a rat ex vivo. Liver disease was evaluated by contrast imaging using a contrast agent that has the property of being taken up by healthy hepatocytes and estimating fat fraction.
