The authors have been conducting research and development of next-generation ultra-high-density ferroelectric HDD using SNDM, and have recently proposed Heat Assisted Ferroelectric Reading (HAFeR) as a method to dramatically increase the playback speed. In this study, we developed a time-resolved SNDM (Tr-SNDM) for high-speed playback demonstration experiments to prove the feasibility of the HAFeR method, and measured linear and nonlinear dielectric response characteristics to optical pulses using it.
