Attosecond pulse generation and high harmonic spectroscopy using higher harmonic generation have been intensively studied. Longer-wavelength drivers are known to be advantageous in terms of cutoff frequency and damage threshold. We have focused on the driver based on a mid-infrared solid-state laser, and report a high-repetition-rate femtosecond laser amplifier based on Cr:ZnS gain media.
