We have discovered that ionic gels made of polymers and ionic liquids move autonomously on the water surface. The multi-body system does not interact and moves randomly. If each ion gel is regarded as a gas molecule, it becomes a model of gas molecular kinetic theory. The average velocity of the ion gel corresponds to the temperature of the gas molecules. In this experiment, we prepared two types of ion gels with different average velocities. We have modeled and visualized the process by which gases with different temperatures mix and reach temperature equilibrium.
