At the epitaxial interface of perovskite oxides, the insertion of a dipole layer causes an interfacial dipole effect, which increases the insulator-to-metal offset. In this study, we used C-AFM to observe the relationship between the distribution of this offset and the electrical characteristics. The macroscopic offset variation observed by XPS, which is associated with the modulation of the dipole effect, is consistent with the result estimated from the average of the local offsets estimated by I-V characteristics, indicating offset modulation by the dipole effect.
