Surface plasmon resonance (SPR) method is label-free, real-time, and quantitative measurement technique to evaluate molecular adsorption and desorption. We develop a high spatial resolution SPR imaging technique using an objective lens with a high numerical aperture because the reflection spectrum in the focal region is measured. In this study, thin polydopamine films were measured and thickness changes less than 2 nm were sensitively detected in a small area.
