Liquid crystals (LC), which possess both dielectric anisotropy and fluidity, have been attracting attention in recent years for use in MEMS transducer applications. The output power of electrostatic/electret vibration energy harvester can be increased by up to 100 times by inserting nematic LC in between the electrodes was founded. For further improvement of such transducers, it is necessary to investigate the dynamic response of molecular orientation and dielectric properties in oscillating flows. In this paper, we investigate the anisotropic permittivity and electrical resistance of a nematic LC.
