Terahertz-wave parametric generation/detection by nonlinear optical effects using lithium niobate crystals is important as a wavelength conversion method to connect B5G wireless communication and optical fiber networks. In this study, we studied basic research on passively Q-switched lasers using Er:Yb:glass as a gain medium in the 1.5 µm band and investigated toward terahertz-wave parametric generation.
