In this presentation, we investigate the focusing property of a tightly focused radially polarized beam with an annular-shaped amplitude mask when the beam is focused on the back surface of a glass plate. The focal spot size and the strength of the longitudinal field at the focus are analyzed. Furthermore, we discuss the relationship between the focusing property and the result of laser ablation processing under these conditions.
