We present a real-time scanning probe microscopy (SPM) measurement interface that implements mixed reality technology. Immersive rendering by Virtual Reality (VR) enhances the visual feedback of SPM data. Using Augmented Reality technology, interactions with hand postures give the sensation of directly touching atomic surfaces, allowing the user to touch the real space even while immersed in the virtual space of VR.
