The electron energy distribution in a solid is expressed by the Fermi-Dirac distribution with thermodynamic temperature as a variable. It is known that the thermodynamic temperature can be determined in principle by measuring the electron energy distribution using ultraviolet photoelectron spectroscopy. In this study, we investigated the photoelectron spectrum near the Fermi level of the Au(110) surface. Measurements were taken in three temperature ranges: room temperature, liquid nitrogen cooling temperature, and liquid helium cooling temperature, and highly accurate temperature measurements of less than 1K were performed based on the area ratio of the photoelectron spectra.
