Ionic liquid (IL)-filled metal-organic framework (MOF), known as IL-MOF, is anticipated as a novel solid-state electrolyte material, maintaining excellent features such as the flame resistance and high ion conductivity of IL while enabling the handling of IL as a solid. Furthermore, reports suggest that selecting an IL with a molecular size comparable to the pore size of MOF restricts the movement of IL anions, improving the transfer rate of lithium ions. However, the synthesis of sufficiently large single crystals for the evaluation of the electrical properties and fragility of MOF has been challenging, hindering property assessments using single crystals. In recent years, the synthesis of large single crystals in the mm size range and the enhancement of crystal hardness through the introduction of IL have been achieved. Based on these developments, this study successfully conducted AC impedance measurements for the first time on a single large-sized MOF crystal filled with Li-doped IL, referred to as Li-IL-MOF.
