In our laboratory, spectral reflectance is calculated using light propagation Monte Carlo simulation (MCS), and various parameters representing the internal state of human skin tissue are estimated based on it.
While colorimeters are commonly used to measure spectral reflectance, it would be easier to measure biological parameters if spectral reflectance could be calculated from RGB values. Therefore, the objective of this study is to predict spectral reflectance from RGB values using Random Forest, one of the machine learning algorithms.
