Magneto-optical (MO) properties of magnetic nanostructures have been extensively investigated for high performance photonic devices such as optical types of chemical sensors with high sensitivity.
In this study, MO cavity effects in perpendicular magnetic stacked nanolayers were analyzed by using the Finite-difference time-domain method.
We demonstrated the upper limit of the MO effects, i.e. Kerr rotation angle of ±90°, in the theoretical calculations.
The MO nano-cavities will be useful for ultra-sensitive chemical sensors.
