As the importance of spatial recognition increases with the growing of the automated vehicle driving and ICT technologies, further improvements in sensitivity, measurement speed, resolution, and environmental noise immunity are required for these applications. Therefore, development of 3D optical sensing technologies based on the time-of-flight (TOF) method, as well as for the development of devices and measurement systems such as lasers and detectors have been expected in recent years. Therefore, this symposium focuses on optical devices, sensing systems, and related technologies that will dramatically improve the performance of next-generation 3D optical sensing technologies.
