The metal halide perovskite semiconductor CsGeI3 (Eg~1.6 eV) exhibits strong ferroelectric polarization comparable to BaTiO3 at room temperature, making it a promising candidate for applications in photonics. However, its nonlinear optical properties and ferroelectric domain structure have been little studied. In this study, we discovered the generation of terahertz (THz) waves upon 1560 nm femtosecond laser irradiation of solution-grown CsGeI3 single crystals. We discuss the mechanisms and efficiency of THz wave generation in the crystals and further explore the features of the ferroelectric domain structure visualized by mapping the THz amplitudes.
